Weebly Coupons Updated for December 2019

As of right now Weebly doesn’t offer any coupons for the hosting service itself, some sites advertise Weebly coupons but they are actually coupons for e-commerce sites built on the Weebly platform. Here is a screenshot of their payment form, no place to enter coupon codes

However, there are still ways to save money on Weebly! We have listed some below:

Best Weebly Offers Right Now:

  • Free Websites

    ACTIVATE OFFER
    FREESITE
Best Deal! Weebly always offers free sites for individuals and businesses, and your free account includes a powerful site building tool and $100 Google Adwords credit. What’s the catch? You aren’t able to connect it to a domain name of your own (so your websites URL will display as ‘yourwebsitename.weebly.com’) and there will be a banner and a link back to the main Weebly website placed on the bottom of all your pages.

If you don’t know the first thing about building or designing websites, or you don’t have any money to pay for hosting or a professional site initially then this may be a good option for you. The free Weebly plans are roughly equivalent to the ones from wordpress.com or blogger.com

  • Sign up for longer term hosting plans

    ACTIVATE OFFER
    PRO
In addition to their free plan, Weebly also offers Starter, Professional and Business accounts with expanded features starting at $4/month. On all of these plans you are offered a discount for signing up for a 1 or 2 year term. You save an average of about 15% on a one year contract and 30% on a 2 year contract. If you know that you are committed to hosting your website a Weebly for the next while then this is a good way to save yourself a little extra money.
  • Business Plans include a free SSL Certificate and no transaction fees

    ACTIVATE OFFER
    none
If you go with a Weebly Business Plan ($29.00 if paid month to month, $24.92/month on a 1 year contract, or $19.54 on a 2 year contract) then you get some nice perks, such as a free SSL certificate (which will typically run you about $75 a year) and they waive the 3% transaction fee that they normally charge on any purchases made through their ecommerce system. If you run an ecommerce site through Weebly and make a fair amount of sales then waiving the 3% fee alone could save you tons of money. You can also keep your checkout on your own domain rather than having your customers be redirected to checkout.weebly.com, since you will have your own SSL certificate to keep customer information secure.

SSL Certificates are also going to start factoring in Google ranking signal, you can read more about that below.

Weebly Plan Features

At Weebly you have the choice of 3 different paid plans, the table below compares some of their features:

  Starter Pro Business
SSL Certificate No No Yes
eCommerce Products 10 25 Unlimited
Transaction Fee 3% 3% None
Shopping Cart Weebly Weebly Your domain
Coupon Codes No No Yes
Digital Goods No No Yes
Shipping & Tax No No Yes

All Weebly hosting plans (including the Free accounts) also get a $100 Google Adwords credit.

SSL Certificates and Google Ranking

At the beginning of August this year (2014) Google announced that as part of their ‘HTTPS everywhere‘ initiative they would be starting to take whether or not a site has an SSL certificate into account on their search engine results pages. For now it doesn’t carry a huge amount of weight, and of course having high quality content is still the number one best thing you can do to get your pages to rank in Google, but in the future they may decide to strengthen it’s impact. And as we already mentioned if you are running any type of ecommerce site having an SSL certificate is a must.

Weebly User Reviews

Given the fairly large number of people who host their websites on Weebly I find it surprising that only only 3 people have posted reviews. However, I also take that as a good sign. Disgruntled customers post reviews, people who are satisfied with their service are rarely motivated to post anything unless they have a really above and beyond positive experience. The most recent reviews as of the posting of this article really liked their website builder (which is their main selling point, being able to create a good looking website with no knowledge of markup languages), and the reliability (no downtime). However they felt the price was a little steep given that they didn’t get a free domain name or any email included. I have to disagree, I think that a lot of hosting companies might give you perks like a free domain and email hosting initially as a sign-up incentive, but once you are up for renewal you won’t get them included for free anymore. Believe me I look at a lot of website hosting companies and Weebly’s pricing is very industry standard! Other positive points given in reviews were the themes that come with the site builder, and the fact that you can download a working copy of your site if you’d like to move it elsewhere. One user had trouble copying and pasting in code that he had been using on Tumblr and was upset that it didn’t work on his Weebly site. I’m not an expert at Tumblr but I do believe that they have their own proprietary shortcodes that wouldn’t work on any other system, which is why he may have been experiencing problems.

One potential downside that I can see to Weebly is that they don’t offer as much in the way of customer support as some other hosting companies do, but I think this is because they have tried to make their website builder as simple to use as possible. While there is no phone support there is training videos, a knowledgebase that you can search through, and email support tickets.

About Weebly:

Weebly was founded by three college friends in 2007 with investment capital from Sequoia Ventures (the venture capital firm that Steve Jobs was a partner in). Weebly offers free and paid web hosting solutions for people from all walks of life: bloggers, teachers, artists, and business owners.

The company was created to fulfill the need for an easy solution to create high-end websites. The company now services over 20 million sites and receives over 140 million unique visitors. It is available in 11 different languages, and also offers professional looking e-commerce solutions.

When Weebly first came out, it was the only website creator of its kind…unfortunately it wasn’t very intuitive. It was flash-based, and so the websites weren’t compatible for mobile phones (Steve Jobs invested in a website builder that wouldn’t work on iPhones? It doesn’t make sense to me either!).

But Weebly has come a long way. The interface has become incredibly intuitive, mobile-friendly, and now they even offer e-commerce solutions for your website. Now you can have your own e-commerce store without having to know code or hiring someone who does.

Weebly is headquartered in San Francisco, California:
