Today marks the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day. So many great changes have taken place over the last 40 years. Although, we still have a long way to go before we stop polluting our planet.

April 22, 1970 was the world’s first Earth Day. This year, Thursday, April 22, 2010 is the 40th Anniversary! From its simple beginnings of gatherings in community centres and school class rooms throughout small towns and cities in the U.S. where the public could learn about the threats to our environment to a now global awareness with celebrations and educational events worldwide.
