Frozen Summer Treats

What better way to refresh your thirsty child on a hot, scorching day than with a delicious, homemade popsicle treat. Considering the heat wave we are currently enjoying here in Ontario, these recipes might just come in handy!

Nutritious Treats

Traditional popsicles might be cold and refreshing on a hot day but they’re certainly not providing any nutrition to your body. Bursting with refined sugar and artificial flavours and dyes, they can actually leave your child feeling thirsty when they’re done. Watermelon and bananas on the other hand, are rich in vitamins A and C, potassium, and fibre. They’re delicious, nutritious, and refreshing on a hot summer day.

This is real, wholesome food that is sure to delight even the pickiest child. Adults beware! You will love these as much as your children do! Be sure to use seedless and organic watermelon; it’s better for the Earth and for your body.

Watermelon Pops

Slice watermelon into triangles and cut off the skin. Put a stick through the centre of the rounded side and roll in organic desiccated coconut. Freeze for at least an hour.

Banana Pops

For banana popsicles, peel and cut ripe bananas in half. Put a stick through the cut end of each piece. They freeze well as is or you can roll it in honey or maple syrup and then immediately after in desiccated coconut, and then freeze.

Health never tasted so good!!!
